The program has been designed for candidates who intend to pursue their professional career as teaching faculty member in an educational institution or serve the industry at senior management position. The program provides opportunities to learn special business techniques required to excel in the challenging and rapidly changing world. The students will have an option to select any one of the areas of specialization offered that is ‘Banking’, ‘Finance’, ‘Human Resource Management’, ‘Management’, ‘Marketing’ and Supply Chain Management. This program is more structured than other business programs, covering the breadth of business-related disciplines such as Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, International Business, Corporate and Business Law and Information Systems. It will be a 4-years programme after intermediate with the required 126 credit hours.

Small Business

The Master of Science degrees are specialised programmes requiring 33 credits to complete whereas the general management MBA degree is a 66 credit programme. The organisation where you do your field project may well be your longer term employer. The Master of Science degrees each cover core fundamental business courses over the first semester after which you specialise in your chosen area in the second semester. MBA graduates can opt to enter any industry of choice after graduation whereas Master of Science graduates will most likely have decided on the industry sector they want to join before applying to LUMS. A student with a non-business background may be required to take pre-requisite courses to be determined by the LUMS Admissions Committee depending on the academic background of the applicant. Options to do this will be given to accepted applicants requiring pre-requisite courses. Prior university studies must be from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission , Pakistan.
